A Retrospective View on the Culinary Experience of my Visitation to ye Olde New Amsterdam

As you all may know, I just spent a week in the Big Apple, and as any foodie can tell you, there's no better city in the world for grubbing down then NYC. Well, I didn't want to inundate this place with tons of Food Reviews, so I'm listing my favorite Must-Eats for NYC. Trust me guys, these are awesome!

Burger: Pauls Da Burger Joint - (See My burger Review)

Fries: Pommes Frites - (world famous fry shack 3 doors down from Paul's with sauces like chipotle mango mayonnaise. Yeah, but try it before you hate on it.

Shake: Stand4 - (Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake. .... Enough said.)

Steak: The Old Homestead Steakhouse - I got the 48oz porterhouse, and it was amazing, and looked EXACTLY like the picture on the site. I however couldn't finish it all, as the appetizer of Kobe Meatballs and mashed potato side were too much for my tummy to handle

Cheesecake: - Juniors! It's heavy as hell, but it's worth the extra sit-ups later!

Hot Dog: - Yeah, theres tons of restaurants in NY to get specialized dogs, brats, and weiners, but you haven't lived until you've had a street hot dog!! I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW what you're thinking... "But Jessi, that's so Nasty!!" I know!! I said the same thing.. and I don't normally like hot dogs... but there is just something about them that is absolutely delicious. I got one in Time Square before seeing the Lion King musical, and I almost buckled at the knees. It will be one of the best Dogs you've ever eaten!

Bakery: Ferrara's - Best Cannoli's in the woyld! Seriously, I tried the place that advertises the best down the street... they don't compare. Ferrara's is by far my favorite bakery in this country. They make everything you could want, from scratch, and though it will cost you a pretty penny, you'll never appreciate a bakery again after spending a night having dessert here. I got 4 Cannoli's, a half-pound of Rainbow Cookies, and 2 orders of Tiramasu for 35$. Like I said, it ain't cheap, but the best never is. Perfect Date Spot!! But be sure to eat in if possible. It's amazing either way, but they make everything completely fresh when you get a table!!
Bagels: Ess-a-Bagel - I've spoken my piece, and have been hated by many canucks for my opinion that NY bagels are better then Montreal Bagels, but I stand by it. And in my opinion, the best in Manhattan is Ess-a-bagel! The bagels are huge, the servings of cream cheese are even bigger, and I've never gone without getting nice, warm, fresh bagel. Try the apple cinnamon cream cheese!! To die for!!
Pizza: South Brooklyn Pizza - And of course, you can't go to the pizza capital of the world without grabbing a slice of some famous NY pizza. You really can't go wrong with any of them, but I would suggest South Brooklyn Pizza. This place uses nothing but fresh ingredients: Fresh Wet Mozzarella, Fresh Parmesan, Fresh Basil Leaves, and Fresh Olive Oil, as well as some nice light tasty sauce. And as if that wasn't enough, they don't cut it until it gets to your house, so its as fresh as possible, and so the moisture from the heat of the pie doesn't seep through to the crust. Yeah, that's taking pride in your pie!!
And somethings, you just can't choose: I mean, really, how do you choose one from the plethora (Do I have a plethora... of pinatas?? sorry, movie quote) of amazing italian restaurants in Little Italy. I swear, Little Italy, NYC employs more italian grandmothers then anywhere in Italy, because the food that comes out of those kitchens is so amazing, you'd swear they had 4-5 nonnina's running around back there. Same thing with Asian cuisine. Chinatown has so much food and authentic culture to offer, you can't possibly choose just one. I mean, its rough enough trying to choose best of ANYTHING in New York, because it's all there, and they all feed off each other. Figuratively and literally.
If you haven't been to New York yet, make sure you go at least once or twice in your life. You will never look at food the same way again.
And Don't Forget Guys, My Birthday is Tomorrow, so it's the last day until Christmas to get a free signed picture for an item off of my wishlist. Or if you just want to be awesome!
This Photo was taken at the order counter in Ferrara's. There were 3 more cases behind me as well. Seriously!
