Sesame Street Gives Little Curly Girls a Beautiful Boost!

There are millions of African-American and mixed race girls who struggle with loving their natural hair. It’s one of those topics people don’t like to discuss but its a reality that has plagued both black and mixed race women for years and finally we are becoming more vocal about it. One of the writers at Sesame Street had adopted an African-American girl and was dealing with many of her self-esteem and self-confidence issues in regards to her hair texture. With such a firsthand experience with this sensitive topic, the writer decided to create a special muppet and song that would change little African-American and mixed race girls viewpoints about their hair.
